Tuesday night Fearon’s trivia is no more. Called and they said they don’t have trivia at all. Thanks for putting this all together…. Trivia is something I usually stumble into, but now that I’m looking… this helps!
That Wednesday night Burwood Tap game referenced in an earlier post did indeed turn into a regular thing. It actually starts at around 9, so there’s time to hit up the free buffet which gets there at like 8:30, before trivia starts. It’s 6 rounds of 10 questions each and there’s always a current events, name that tune, movie, and pictures round. Prizes are decent…$20 gift certificate to the bar, free round of shots and free pitcher of beer to the winning team. A pretty cool twist is that the second place team each week gets to come up with a category –to be approved by the host- for the following week.
Went to Gio’s last night for their trivia. I was informed that they are no longer doing trivia night due to lack of participants showing up. Please post this information.
Finn McCools is a giant joke for Thursday night trivia. “Quizzo” did not start until 9:30 and we left before the last round started and that was almost 12:30! Its a giant racket.
The host is the incarnation of the “Duff Man” from the Simpsons. He actually read aloud the word “colonel” as “colonial”. On top of that, he had these ridiculous “bonus points” he would award for such subjective categories as “best team name” and “most creative toast”. That was great since the most creative toast ended up being a tie. TWO friggin teams had the SAME toast. How is that creative?
On top of that, the advertised drink specials and the actual drink specials are two different things entirely. The $2.50 Miller drafts are only on “NFL Thursdays”. So basically, never. Jerks.
Skip Finn McCools.
Great web site! Thanks for putting it together!
